The Alumni Relations Office (ARO) had the distinct pleasure of welcoming back Rodolfo “Rudy” C. Balmater (MM 78), President of Balmater Consulting Company, to campus on January 19, 2026.  With over 37 years of high-level corporate experience with SGV, Arthur Andersen, and Ernst and Young, primarily in Indonesia, Pak Rudy leads his own highly successful consulting firm.  He also serves as an independent director in several large Indonesian companies and is a former District Governor of Rotary International.

A steadfast supporter and champion of AIM in Indonesia, Pak Rudy has helped the Institute forge strong ties with some of the country’s largest corporations.  At last year’s AIM alumni dinner in Kuningan, he arranged meetings with the top leadership of PT Amman Mineral International, PT Samudera Indonesia, Tamara Group, and PT Danantara, as well as members of the Rotary Club of Jakarta.

This visit marked Pak Rudy’s first return to campus since his graduation in 1978.  After a brief campus tour, he remarked that the Institute has changed dramatically for the better, expressing admiration for the state-of-the-art Aboitiz Tech Space and the renovated facilities across campus.  He was particularly impressed by the fifteen (15) degree programs now offered and the more than 1,300 students currently enrolled.

On hand to welcome him were SEELL School Head Albert Mateo, adjunct professor and long-time Indonesia expat Noel Canivel (MBM 79), and ARO Managing Director Bernie Jiao (MBM 89).

Welcome home, Pak Rudy.  We look forward to seeing you again soon!
