Transforming Passion into Purpose: My Journey in the Field of Cybersecurity - Donna Villa Gaspan-Cerna, MCS 2024 - AIM Leader

Class Notes from Donna Villa Gaspan-Cerna, Master in Cybersecurity (MCS) 2024

My foray into the field of cybersecurity was unplanned, yet it sparked a fervent passion within me. Although I had no previous experience, my intense interest in cutting-edge technology and my will to create new ideas in a swiftly evolving environment pushed me ahead. Guided by steadfast trust, I can confidently declare, “I have achieved it!” This accomplishment would not have been attainable without the divine intervention of the Almighty.

Now, I find myself at the threshold of a new phase in my life, as I have completed my Master’s degree in Cybersecurity after 18 grueling months.
I am filled with profound gratitude as I contemplate this extraordinary experience. Attaining this significant achievement would not have been feasible without the extraordinary people who provided me with their unwavering support.

To the excellent professors at the Asian Institute of Management, I express my gratitude for your invaluable advice, mentoring, and exceptional expertise. Your teachings have greatly influenced my comprehension of cybersecurity and have provided me with the necessary abilities to excel in this ever-changing domain. The level of your devotion to achieving greatness and your steadfast dedication to our achievement were incredibly motivating. I am profoundly appreciative of the chance to acquire knowledge from such well-regarded intellects.

To my exceptional colleagues, particularly Learning Team 8 and my Capstone peers, I express my gratitude for the strong bond, constant encouragement, and collective encounters that enriched our educational expedition. The collective synergy and communal bond we cultivated proved to be quite helpful. I deeply value the friendships we established and the experiences we made – these connections will persist.

As we begin our separate journeys, equipped with the knowledge and skills acquired at AIM, I am fully certain that we will make substantial contributions to the constantly changing field of cybersecurity and beyond. We will Lead, Inspire, and Transform! I am privileged to have been a member of this exceptional cohort-MCS2024, and I excitedly look forward to the extraordinary accomplishments we will make in the future.
