June 8 marks the successful culmination of the first leg of the Liter of Light solar lamp assembly — a World Record attempt for AIM & a brighter, more sustainable future for our communities needing light.

The Liter of Light initiative was led by Illac Diaz, ME 2001 & co-led by Rotary Club – Alumni Chapter (RCAIM) Charter President James Charles “Jake” Que, MIB 2023, MIBL 2025, & upcoming Unite for Good President Adam Andrew Ong, MSIB 2022.

On its first day, representing Rotary Club – Alumni Chapter were Club’s VP Versailles Tabanda, MSIB 2021, Nikki Laynes  EMBA 2023A and 2024, Arnulfo Almeniana, EMDRCM 2025, Anthony Seumal, EMBA 2020, MSDS PT 2025B, Paula Veslino, MDM 2024, and Elliot Ngo, MCS 2024 — proudly joining volunteers to build light for off-grid communities. Prof. Rei Magnaye, MCS 2024 & Rovy Caoile, MIB 2023 also graced the event.

Heavily supporting the initiative behind the scenes is Club’s Service Project Chair Samantha Kay Lisay, EMDRCM 2025 & Public Image Chair Cheryl Justiniano, OMBA 2025.
