The recent visit of Bloomberg Singapore representatives to the AIM campus marked a significant step toward forging a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership focused on advancing teaching and learning, strengthening research capabilities, and expanding student opportunities.  Bernie Jiao, Alumni Relations Office (ARO) Managing Director, Jade Galvan, Career Services Office (CSO) Director, and Mia Falcis, Industry Development Manager of the Sycip Graduate School of Business, warmly welcomed John Lagman, Bloomberg’s APAC Crypto and FX Workflow Specialist and Strategy Lead, Charina Evangelista, Bloomberg Account Representative, and Snekha Selvakumar, Bloomberg Market Data Analyst, to AIM on 14 April 2026.

The meeting was organized to explore a wide range of collaborative initiatives, with a shared focus on how both sides can work together to create real value for students, faculty, and alumni.

Discussions covered a wide range of strategic areas, including integrating Bloomberg’s tools and resources into the classroom to give students greater exposure to real-world data and industry-standard platforms.  For students and faculty alike, the integration of real-world financial tools into the learning process, as well as enhanced access to high-quality datasets for research, are welcome developments that bridge academic learning with industry practice.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the shared commitment to expanding student learning and career opportunities.  This includes potential internship pathways, recruitment pipelines, and skills development programs designed to equip students with industry-relevant experience.  The conversation also underscored the value of training initiatives that would enable both faculty and students to maximize the use of Bloomberg’s platforms and data resources.

The meeting also touched on broader collaboration through events, competition, and thought leadership.  Ideas such as guest lectures, joint forums, hackathons, and knowledge-sharing activities were explored to foster learning and alumni engagement across key areas, including finance, data science, and analytics.  Strategic co-branding will also be explored in the future.

Overall, it was an excellent meeting with several immediate and encouraging outcomes. Both sides quickly aligned on next steps, including installing a Bloomberg Terminal on campus, developing internship and recruitment opportunities, expanding access to training and datasets, and planning joint events and thought leadership initiatives.

The visit set a positive tone for what promises to be a valuable long-term partnership.  Both sides shared a commitment to turning these initial agreements into tangible programs that will benefit students, faculty, and the whole AIM community.
