The Asian Institute of Management unveiled its new logo at a grand launch on 28 February and held a press conference for media on 3 March as a way to kick-off its Golden Anniversary in 2018.

Members of the AIM Boards of Governors and Trustees led by AIM Chairman Emeritus Washington SyCip, Oscar López, and Bud Sorensen joined President and Dean Jikyeong Kang as she welcomed honored guests, as well as alumni, faculty, students, and staff to celebrate this special milestone in the Institute’s history.

ME student and the evening’s host, Paolo Bediones, began the program by inviting Jikyeong to deliver her welcome remarks. Jikyeong emphasized that the new visual identity, while staying true to the mission-vision and guiding principles of our founders, signals AIM’s progressive response to the needs of business in society with a fresh trajectory of program innovation and expansion. Polly Nazareno, Chairman of AIM’s Board of Governors and Board of Trustees, and Jess Gallegos, AIM Professor, also spoke about AIM’s heritage and our continuing efforts to address the demands of an ever-changing Asia.

A musical performance from Grammy Award-winning composer and electric cellist Dana Leong and TEKTONIK was followed by a Powerdance presentation, which led to the revelation of the new logo in the lobby’s LED screen. The show highlighted our mission to continue to produce graduates who Lead, Inspire, and Transform business in society — now and in the future.

After the big logo reveal, guests began to party in earnest. The celebratory mood continued a few days later, when Jikyeong held a press conference, along with members of AIM’s Boards of Governors and Trustees. Jikyeong revealed plans to offer new courses on Data Science and Disaster Risk Management, along with a partnership with edX, to offer online courses. Initial schemes for improving existing facilities, and proposals for construction of a new building within the premises are likewise under review.

With the new logo launch and all these promising developments, AIM’s message is clear: we intend to go beyond business and blaze new trails in the coming years ahead.
