On 31 March 2023, the Career Services Office (CSO) hosted a panel discussion featuring highly respected public servants who generously shared their insights and experiences working in the public sector. The event provided valuable knowledge and guidance to students interested in pivoting their careers from the private sector to government service.

CSO would like to thank the Deputy Head of the Planning and Policy Research Division of the Bureau of Customs,   Rommel Rubiales, Retired Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines and Former Head of the Philippine Mission to the European Union, Ambassador Victoria Bataclan, and Deputy Director of the Recruitment and Career Management Group of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Michael Ray Almario, for gracing the event.

Fifty-six students across all programs attended the event, learning key takeaways on government career avenues and progression as well as the basic qualifications for eligibility to join the public service sector. The speakers also shared their thoughts regarding public service careers. Mr. Almario emphasized “determining your why” because he believes those with strong motivations thrive and succeed in government service. Ms. Bataclan encouraged the participants to “give it your best!” She further stated that “Working for a government agency is one of the greatest things to do. You serve your country, self, family, and humanity.” Finally, Mr. Rubiales remarked that an AIM education will not only give you an Asian, but also a global perspective. According to him, AIM opens a lot of opportunities for international employment as well as international scholarships for continuing education.
