MAKATI, Philippines – The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) unveiled a groundbreaking program, “The NEW Language of Business,” for Global Network Week (GNW) 2024. GNW provides MBA students with focused mini courses at network schools, utilizing diverse perspectives and faculty expertise.
Participants from Seoul National University (SNU), Strathmore University, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), along with AIM students from the International MBA (IMBA), Executive MBA (EMBA), and Master of International Business Law (MIBL) programs, engaged in this comprehensive five-day event. The program, which garnered positive feedback, featured a blend of classroom sessions, a local immersion tour, and a featured company visit.
The classroom sessions covered a wide range of relevant and forward-thinking topics, including Sustainable Finance by Professor Felipe Calderon, Islamic Finance by Atty. Saba Sana Kareemi, Sustainable Tourism by Dr. John Paolo Rivera, Law and ESG by Professor Mario Cerilles, Generative AI and Its Impact on Cybersecurity by Professor Philip Kwa, Sustainable Marketing by Professor Yvonne Swee Lee Liow among many others.
Bridging theory and practice, participants visited two local destinations known for their sustainability practices: ACEN Corporation and Kilyawan Farm Resort. ACEN Corporation, a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation and a leading energy company in the Philippines, focuses on developing renewable power projects.
Kilyawan Farm Resort in Batangas features cozy accommodations, activities like swimming and fishing, and sustainable practices such as organic farming. Its focus on sustainability made it an ideal destination for the course participants to witness sustainable practices firsthand.
As a final requirement, students worked on a group capstone project, incorporating sustainability principles into various industries in their chosen countries.
GNW participants presented their capstone projects, focusing on applying sustainability practices to various sectors. GNW is an international study program that gives students and faculty the chance to study intensively at one of 32 network schools across the globe. Participants attend focused courses, tour local businesses, and meet with experts, gaining diverse, global perspectives on current business challenges.
AIM is proud to offer “The New Language of Business” to the current and future participants of GNW. By combining academic learning with practical experiences, AIM continues to prepare future business leaders to navigate and lead in a rapidly changing world.
