AIM alumni join emerging leaders for the Obama Foundation Leaders: Asia-Pacific Program - AIM Leader

AIM is proud to announce that four (4) alumni have been selected to be part of the Obama Foundation Leaders: Asia-Pacific Program.  The five-day program will gather 200 emerging leaders from 33 countries and territories across the Asia-pacific region where former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, together with prominent leaders and speakers, will join the emerging leaders in discussing progress and opportunities, as well as values-based leadership, in the Asia-Pacific region.  The emerging leaders will also participate in skill-building workshops, leadership development training and do a community service project.

 

The four deserving alumni are Maria Angela Flores-Abad, MDM 2011, Dr. Jason Alacapa, MBA 2016, Antonio Zulueta, MDM 2018 and Carmina Bayombong, Cohort 2018 AIM-Dado Banatao Incubator.

Angela is a Donor Coordination Adviser at Palladium, whose objective is to build open, inclusive and prosperous societies.  She was formerly the Society and Social Enterprise Lead of the British Council in Manila.  Her passion is towards peacebuilding and social entrepreneurship.

 

Dr. Jason Alacapa is a medical doctor, holds an MBA, and is currently CEO of Innovations for Community Health.  His organization is into developing high impact and sustainable innovations to improve the public health system.

 

Antonio Zulueta, Jr. founded the A-HA! Learning Center, a free tutorial center serving public school children with the objective of arresting the decline in public school enrollment rates in the secondary level.  In addition to academic tutoring, his center also teaches values such as resilience, independence and helpfulness.

 

Carmina Bayombong joined the AIM-Dado Banatao Incubator program to further refine InvestEd Philippines where she is Co-Founder and CEO.  InvestEd is an innovative student loan program that seeks to provide financial support to unbanked students to allow them to finish their collegiate education.  Aside from an easy and free online loan application, InvestEd also provides an employment and financial literacy training program to guide their clients in the repayment of their loans.
