President Ferdinand Marcos has appointed Maximo Sta. Maria III, MDM 2024, former Assistant Postmaster General and Regional Area Director, as the new Acting Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost).
A seasoned management executive, Sta. Maria played a key role in implementing strategic postal reform programs and quality management initiatives. He also led the successful ISO 9001:2015 certification of the Manila Central Post Office.
Sta. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management and a Juris Doctor. He graduated with honors in Business Administration from De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde.
Taking on the role at a crucial time, Sta. Maria emphasized the need for innovation within PHLPost, particularly through the integration of modern technology.
He assured the public that PHLPost remains committed to its mandate of providing affordable, reliable mail services across the country and overseas.
“The postal service must remain relevant and vital to the government’s efforts to serve Filipinos here and abroad,” Sta. Maria said. “It needs to play an active role and rise to the challenges.”
Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin administered Sta. Maria’s oath of office.
