The Asian Institute of Management is pleased to announce the twin appointments of Mr. Roberto G. Manabat, MBM 74, and Mr. Anwar Hossein Chowdhury, MM 98, to the AIM Board of Trustees.  They will ably represent the AIM alumni community in the governing authority and policy-making body of the Institute.

 

Mr. Roberto “Bert” G. Manabat is the current chairman of the Alumni Association of AIM, Inc. (AAAIM), Philippine Chapter of our Alumni Associations.  He was the Chairman and CEO of KPMG R.G. Manabat and Co., a member firm of KPMG International.  He was also a member of the Global Council as well as the Asia-Pacific Board of KPMG International.

 

 

Currently, he sits as an Independent Director of the Union Bank of the Philippines and chairs the bank’s Audit Committee.  He is also an Adviser to the Board of Directors of SM Investments Corporation.  A Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors, he holds directorships in other corporations in the Philippines.

 

Bert is a recipient of the Triple A Award, the highest recognition given by AIM to its outstanding alumni.  He is actively involved in running the affairs of the Philippine alumni chapter to align the Association to the mission, vision, and values of the Asian Institute of Management.

 

Mr. Anwar Hossein Chowdhury is the president of the AIM Alumni Association of Bangladesh.  He currently serves as the Country Head of IPE Global Limited in Bangladesh.  He held previous positions as Technical Director and Senior Consultant for BDO Bangladesh as well as Deputy Team Leader and Chief Financial Officer for the British Council.  He brings with him over 25 years of experience in senior leadership positions in the domain of development and social work.

 

 

Anwar is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a member of the Quality Assurance Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh.  In addition, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries (FCS) of Bangladesh.

 

Their election will no doubt further advance AIM’s mission of developing leaders and managers to sustain the growth of Asian businesses and societies.  The AIM community wishes Bert and Anwar the best as they continue their selfless service to the alma mater.
