The Hon. Maria Teresita Socorro “Marites” Z. Dimaculangan, ME 2005, was recently appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy (PRBOA). She took her oath on February 8, 2022 at a formal ceremony presided by Hon. Teofilo S. Pilando, Jr., current Chairman of the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC).
Marites is the Managing Partner of Dimaculangan, Dimaculangan and Co. CPAs as well as the Managing Director of U Konsult, Inc. She is also an active member/officer of various professional organizations such as the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI), Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP), Tax Management of the Philippines (TMAP), Financial Executives of the Philippines (FINEX), Philippine Institute of Certified Accountants (PICPA), and the ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN). She is also an Angelpreneur for Finance, Accounting, and Taxation at the Department of Trade and Industry’s Negosyo Center.
On top of her many professional engagements and personal advocacies, Marites also served as Treasurer of the AIM Alumni Association from 2015 to 2017. It was her way of giving back to the institute that she credits for her professional growth and success. Even now, she continues to use the frameworks she learned from the Master in Entrepreneurship (ME) program in her numerous speaking engagements as she tries to instill an entrepreneurial mindset among her audience.
In her new capacity as a board member of the PRBOA, Marites looks forward to visiting colleges and universities offering Accountancy courses across the country to help set policies and standards to further enhance the skills of graduates as they become important partners in nation building.
