The Network of AIM Alumni in Singapore (NAIMAS) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the prestigious Tanglin Club in Singapore, drawing over 60 alumni from across graduating batches ranging from 1973 to 2023.

The evening opened with a short icebreaker conducted by Saurabh Anand (MBA 2006) called “Did You Really Do That?!” which involved alumni forming groups comprising multiple batches and scoring points if they ‘confessed’ to specific things that Saurabh asked. It was a fun trip down memory lane with the winning team confessing to delivering a presentation at AIM with a hangover, getting caught breaking a rule on campus and many more.

This was followed by the Chairman’s address. NAIMAS Chairman Renny Yeo called on AIM alumni—particularly the younger generation—to take up committee roles, contributing fresh perspectives and driving continued community growth. During the AGM, he announced a leadership transition: Vivek Goyal had moved into the role of Vice Chairman, Sridhar Ramaswamy had been appointed President, with Saurabh Anand as Secretary and Yael Marquez-Mapacpac as Treasurer. The transition underscored NAIMAS’ commitment to leadership development and seamless succession, and Renny appealed to members to endorse the new team wholeheartedly.

This was followed by the formal AGM proceedings led by Sridhar Ramaswamy (MBM 1996), which covered annual updates, key administrative matters, and future plans for the organization. As part of the AGM there was the election of the new Executive Committee. This leadership shift reflects NAIMAS’ commitment to continuity and growth, ensuring that the network continues to evolve and remain relevant to the needs of its members.

Attendees were also treated to an insightful keynote by Rohit Rupani, Head of Investment Advisory at the Bank of Singapore. His talk focused on emerging global financial, business, and social trends shaping Southeast Asia, sparking lively discussion among participants and adding intellectual depth to the evening.

Networking remained a central theme of the event, with dynamic exchanges between AIM alumni from a diverse range of industries and experiences. The event fostered connections across generations, reinforcing NAIMAS’ mission to strengthen the presence of AIM alumni in Singapore’s business ecosystem, promote lifelong learning, and support members in their career development journeys.

Recognized by the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) as its official alumni network in Singapore (via letter dated 12 May 2020), NAIMAS continues to serve as a vital platform for thought leadership and engagement. Since its inception, NAIMAS has been steered by a dedicated team of leaders including past Chairman Dr. Clive Lim, current Chairman Renny Yeo, and outgoing President Vivek Goyal. The AGM reaffirmed NAIMAS’ commitment to empowering its members and contributing meaningfully to Singapore’s vibrant professional community.
